Wow, 2 years have flown by! I've really loved working on this blog- it has evolved into something I never expected!
The best thing about starting this blog: hands down the generous, kind, creative people I have met through it. I've encountered some exceptional individuals whom I now consider good friends. To celebrate- I am giving away a 100% Silk Crepe de Chine Scarf in the Magic Marker Print from the ERMIE End of the Year Collection. The scarf is approximately 40 inches x 70 inches. Use it as a scarf, a wrap, or throw. Cozy. Dry Cleaning or hand washing recommended.

The details: Just leave a comment under this post- tell me what you enjoy about blogs, blogging, or about this blog specifically, -or share some of your favorite blogs to read right now.

You have until 12 Midnight Thursday 11/4/10 PST to comment. I will draw the name of 1 winner at random and post the results on Friday 11/5/10. I'll ship the prize free of charge to anywhere in the world.

Good Luck, and thanks so very much for reading these past two years!

Palette for the ERMIE End of the Year Collection: Orange & Black, Winter White, and Evergreen...

The ERMIE Bokeh Print Shirt Dress. 100% Cotton Lawn. Great for layering, shell buttons, self belt, unlined.

I don't always feel like wearing huge, chunky, jewelry. Sometimes I want something a little more understated- like this pretty collaboration between Jennifer Gordy of Wiksten & Jennifer Sarkilahti of Odette NYC- it happens to work perfectly with all of the pieces I designed for F/W 2010.

PS. Just so you know...everything I post on my blog is by my own choosing, and unpaid. I don't take advertisements on the blog, exchange links, etc. If it's on the blog- it's because I like it and want to help promote the people and things I love.

PPS: I'm having a 2 Year Bloggaversary GIVE-AWAY tomorrow...stay tuned!

Oami posted this photo above of a blouse she made with the ERMIE Fragment Print on her blog!

I love the Tumblr mass edit function...just to look at all of the pictures I have posted so far all at once...and to notice the connections and themes in common between them.

I am in awe.

Photos from the Group Art Sale I participated in over the weekend! I'm glad I did it - it was a great experience and the group of women that were my co-participants couldn't have been nicer.

Thank-you to all of my friends who came out to support me!

Special thank-you's to Phi LeQuoc who organized the sale, and to IDA Studio for hosting us in their lovely space in Culver City.

Phi, in addition to organizing the event, also made baked goods over the weekend: Swedish Visiting Cake -the swirly one pictured above- and this Pumpkin Bread:

Josea's Pumpkin Bread
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp salt
4 eggs, beaten
1 cup vegetable oil
1 can pureed pumpkin
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp nutmeg
3 cups sugar
3 tsp vanilla
2/3 cups water
1 cup or more chocolate chips

1. preheat oven to 350.
2a. sift flour, and mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl.
2b. mix all liquid ingredients together in a different bowl.
3. make a well in the center of dry ingredients. add liquid ingredients + chocolate chips and stir until smooth.
4. pour into greased and floured bread pans or muffin tins.
5. bake until toothpick inserted in center comes out dry, about 1 hour for small breads, about 1 and 15 minutes for large breads, about 50 minutes for muffins.

yields 2 large or 3 small loaves, or 24 muffins.

If you live in the Los Angeles area, I will be participating in a Group Art Sale Saturday and Sunday. I'm really excited/ nervous about it. I admit it is a little silly to have such strong feelings about a sale, but it's the first time I've ever done anything like this in years. Yu-i invited me to do this sale, she will be there selling her beautiful prints, too!

You may have noticed my new header. It was designed by the skilled and lovely Katie Hanburger of The Slow Season. I'm thrilled with the design; she also designed garment tags, hang tags and business cards for me. H
ope to show you some images of those soon.

Pictured above- the ERMIE Bead Print and the Cosmic Print. Both in 100% Silk Crepe de Chine. Both new for ERMIE Spring 2011. I will have a blouse in the Bead Print and a big scarf in the Cosmic Print at the sale.

Hopefully in the next few weeks I'll have the online shop up and running, but in the meantime if you are in the area this weekend- come by & say hello & check things out in person!

Group Art Sale:
IDA Studio 8440 Warner Drive (Cross Street:Eastham) Culver City, CA

12 Noon to 6 pm Saturday 10/23 and Sunday 10/24.

Fete Bourgogne

Chanterelles
Plating
The Puff Pastry
The MeatThe Wines
The Chef!

Photos from the Fete Bourgogne we attended Saturday night at Max's (please- someone give this man a grant to start a restaurant- he is a true artist with food) and Cheryl's home.

We all contributed a little to the meal (T. & I brought cheeses and a ginormous pomegranate from our tree, Gian & Sandra bread & a salad, Hadley and Thomas- cheesecake made with quark from a German recipe that belonged to Thomas' Grandmother and a rhubarb compote).

Max's amazing cooking & wine pairing from his carefully curated wine collection resulted in one of the best meals of my life. A beautiful autumn evening spent in the company of good friends. What could be better?

Electric Garden

Pomegranate with ERMIE Electric Garden Print

Textile Design © Jennifer Parry Dodge 2010

Pomegranate resting on the ERMIE Party Skirt in the Electric Garden Print (named by the wonderful Oami Powers of Judah Ross and Twentyfive).

A massive pomegranate harvested just moments ago from the tiny tree in our front yard that we will bring to share along with assorted French cheeses and crackers at a Fete Bourgogne this evening!

Sorry I haven't been posting much here- but there is a lot of fun stuff to look at on my Tumblr page.

Ideas for Pomegranates via Good Food:
Roasted with butternut squash and pecans.
On a tostada with shrimp ceviche and guacamole.
Mixed with fuyu persimmons in a salad.
In Greek yogurt with a little honey.
As a garnish on chocolate pots de creme.

Happy weekend! Back to Sewing...

Some more one-offs for the Sale.
Both prints in 100% Silk Crepe de Chine.

Cloudburst Print in Orange (an ERMIE SP 2011 Print). The dress is slightly over-sized, v-neck front and back, with frayed edges at the neckline & around the arms.

Mariposa Print (ERMIE F/W 2010), worn here in some shots with the revised ERMIE Slouch Cowl in Plum (I will also have some in Rust and Cactus at the Sale).
